I'll never understand women's sizing for clothing. I'm by no means a big girl. I'm 5'4", 125 lbs, 36-28-39. I've got my curves, and I'm so very blessed to have them in all the right places.

Here's the deal.

In women's t-shirts, I have to buy a size large. I'm not a large person. What do large people buy? I'm even in the US, where we keep getting bigger and bigger, yet little me wears a large?

In jeans I wear a size 9, but if I wear guys jeans, I fit a 31 comfortably (see: slightly baggy), so I wonder why women's sizes start so small. Guys jeans generally start at 30, maybe 29. Any smaller than that, and you're in kids sizes! Why have women decided they want to make themselves feel fat by making the sizes disproportionate? Logically, a little girl's 16 should be smaller than a women's 0. That's how it works in the mens department. Oddly enough, I can squeeze myself into that size 16. w.t.f. That shouldn't happen.

Does anyone know of an actual reason as to why the sizes are so weird?

wow we are exactly the same height, almost the same weight, and have similar measurements and i usually buy things in a medium and feel ok. actually sometimes i feel they are a little short. but you do bring up an interesting point, womens sizing is weird. if i buy jeans from the juniors department i usually have to grab a 9 or 7, but in misses or whatever i can usually fit comfortably in a 4 or 6. it's weird. very weird. different places have totally different sizes too. in Tilt jeans I'm a 3! but when compared to other places that sell jeans in a size 3 they are bigger. who knows. women's sizing is so messed up.
